The Minskin is a hybrid breed. They are a combination of: the short-statured Munchkin and the hairless Sphynx. Minskins are short-statured and although they lack a full coat, they should not be completely bald. The Minskin is NOT to be mistaken as a Sphynx with short legs, or a Munchkin without fur. Minskin cats have their own descriptive Breed Standard
Minskins come in all colors, of all divisions, in all catagories of the feline, genetic color chart (longhair is not allowed). Color pointed Minskins are a favorite but all colors are acceptable.
The name of the breed: Min-Skin was given because of the two most obvious traits that these cats express. 'Min' because of their obviously short/miniature legs and 'Skin' because of their lack of a full coat. Minskins have many good qualities which make them desirable as a pet: Firstly, they are small in size and look 'kitten like' throughout their lives. These cats are unusual looking with a very sweet expression. Minskins are ideal for smaller homes or apartment living, they are playful and active but not destructive. They thrive on human interaction.
Due to the lack of a full coat, their shedding is not noticable and do not require a great deal of maintenance. Minskins are very people oriented and affectionate.
"The only thing better than having one, is having two". Minskins are "small but not delicate" These solid, little cats remain 'kitten-like' in appearance throughout their lives and are medium/small when full grown.
Minskins have many temperament and personality traits. They are very affectionate and people oriented and thrive on human interaction. They are friendly and playful but not destructive. Minskins train easily and respond well to people and other animals.
